Regional Director, Advertising Sales
TheStreet.com, a leading multimedia provider of financial commentary, analysis, research and news, is in search of a highly motivated Regional Director to join our Advertising Sales team. The Regional Director will be responsible for building, growing, and managing advertising & sponsorship sales for Interactive and Conferences in the eastern US territory. This person will directly report to the VP of Eastern Region Advertising Sales. Responsibilities:
- Prospect and develop key relationships at senior levels of ad agencies and companies to effectively build and maintain territory ad revenue vs. budget.
- Establish professional relationships and a robust account pipeline by prioritizing and conducting a high volume of weekly account opens and sales calls to realize maximum revenue.
- Strategically approach prospects and determine needs, marketing initiatives/ objectives, business model, budget cycle and key decision-makers.
- Develop "most effective" sales proposals and ad sales solutions through experience and internal brainstorming with a thorough understanding of appropriate & available inventory to deliver on program.
- Conduct high level client sales meetings and presentations designed to aggressively and professionally move the sales process towards agreement in a timely manner.
- Negotiate final agreement points in conjunction with internal staff and prospective client.
- Maintain an ongoing communication to assure execution of contract deliverables and maximum program optimization with client services team and client to maximize advertising results and a high renewal rate.
- Efficiently manage territory T&E Complete regular call reports, sales pipelines and revenue forecasts.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree with 5+ years Advertising Sales experience in media. Possess in-depth knowledge of interactive advertising with regard to positioning and technology. Solid contacts and relationships with agencies and clients are required. Must have demonstrated success in online media sales and be able to sell conceptual, multi-faced and profitable advertising programs. Highly developed written and oral presentation skills are necessary. Should be able to think strategically from a marketing perspective. Must understand how to orchestrate internal champions at high levels to acquire necessary funding from a variety of budgets.

Product Development Manager

This person will be responsible for simultaneously coordinating the development of new products as well as the improvement of existing products for the consumer market segment. Responsibilities:
Manage the improvement of existing Web and email based products:
- Create detailed product specifications for use by Technology, Marketing, Editorial and other groups to implement product improvements, both large and small.
- Coordinate with product writer(s), Editorial, Technology and Marketing to implement improvements or roll-out new products.
- Solicit feedback from existing customers via surveys and focus groups gauge customer satisfaction and how to improve our product.
Manage the development of new products (both web - and email-based):
- Prioritize and manage projects through the development cycle
- Coordinate with product writer(s), Editorial and Project Management to move new product from conception to production.
- Become internal champion for new product opportunities in the consumer market segment.
- Collaborate with senior managers and perform market research to identify opportunities to develop new products to fill gaps in the current consumer product line.
- Create financial projections for the new product.
- Collaborate with Editorial to define specifications for new product.
- Coordinate the recruitment of talent to write the new product.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate proven results in developing and executing successful products. In addition, the candidate will have a BA/BS degree with at least 4-6 years investment-related experience in product management/development or market research. Excellent understanding of investment, trading and personal finance concepts and market trends. Have the ability to spot market opportunities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Attention to detail and financial modeling experience are required. Must be able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Experience making presentations to senior management levels. Strong leadership skills required. A degree in Marketing is preferred.

Business Development Associate

This position will be responsible for identifying, negotiating and executing on media buying opportunities and strategically partnering with 3rd parties in order to drive revenue for our consumer based investment products. Responsibilities:
- Work with the Business Development Director in order to strategically identify all potential media buying and business development opportunities for driving subscription revenue, unique visitor traffic and accurate database information.
- Negotiate profitable traffic and subscription-driving relationships with online and financial companies.
- Coordinate with our Account and Project Management teams to ensure that new partnerships deals and advertising buys are practical and implemented effectively.
- Work with our reporting team to gather accurate information to be used to effectively optimize relationships and ROI.
- Create, maintain and update financial models to justify new business relationships.
- Collaborate with Legal and Finance to negotiate favorable terms for all new business development contracts.
- Collaborate with internal Marketing, Editorial and Advertising Managers to align our consumer business needs and discover unique inter-departmental opportunities.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree with at least 2-3 years business development, sales and/or negotiating experience. Experience working in the online financial or investment industry a plus. Strategic advertising sales or media buying experience also acceptable. Possess strong diplomatic and negotiating skills. Must have a demonstrated ability to identify and execute on profitable business opportunities. Solid financial modeling experience and/or knowledge is mandatory.
