Who is Scotland's best striker of all time?

Gers reopen Ferguson talks

by Patrick Goss -  created on 31 Jan 2005

Rangers have reopened talks with Blackburn Rovers over midfielder Barry Ferguson.

Ferguson had looked set to remain with Rovers despite submitting a transfer request, when the Premiership side rejected The Gers' last offer.

However, the Scottish giants have not written off their chances of re-signing their former skipper, and will again attempt to complete a deal before the transfer window closes.

"The club is still in dialogue with Rangers over Barry Ferguson," confirmed Rovers chief executive John Williams.

Ferguson is keen to return to Scotland after never really settling in England.

Blackburn's manager Mark Hughes was keen to keep hold of the player, planning to partner him with Welsh star Robbie Savage, who they signed this month.
