Milan have been handed a boost with the news that Andrei Shevchenko's ankle injury is not as bad as first feared.
The Ukrainian ace picked up an ankle problem during Sunday's surprise home defeat to Bologna.
Shevchenko was forced off with the problem after a collision with Bologna defender Alessandro Gamberini.
It was feared that Shevchenko may face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but tests have shown that he will be only be out of action for two weeks with the problem.
Shevchenko is set to miss the next three Serie A matches against Messina, Lazio and Reggina, but is set to be fit for the crucial UEFA Champions League tie with Manchester United on February 23.
