BOLDTYPE ISSUE #15: Design Credit

The header design this month is a detail of the color photograph above, "Elevator Girl House B4," 1998 by Miwa Yanagi. It appears in Miwa Yanagi, published by Hatje Cantz Verlag in 2004 in conjunction with an exhibition of the artist's work at the Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin. The book is distributed in the Untied States and North America by D.A.P./Distributed Art Publishers, Inc.

Since her first international show in Frankfurt, Germany in 1996, Yanagi's work has been seen in galleries and institutions around the world. She has had solo exhibitions at Galerie Kodama in Osaka, Galerie Almine Rech in Paris, and Galerie Leyendecker in Tenerife. In 2003, her work was included in the critically acclaimed "The American Effect" at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
