| | | | | To ensure you are using Vodafone in the UK
When you arrive in the UK, you can ensure that Vodafone UK is your selected network using the mobile handset menus. The exact process may vary depending on the make and model of the handset so we recommend that you check your handset user guide. | | | | | Easy access to your Voicemail and customer care services This Vodafone service allows you to dial the Voicemail service and Customer Care short-code numbers that you are familiar with using in your home country. This makes it even easier to keep in touch with your messages or contact Customer Care in your own language, while you are roaming onto the Vodafone UK network. Please check with your home network to see if these services are available to you. The following services are available to you on the Vodafone network in the UK (providing your home network supports the service): - Call divert. The facility to divert your incoming calls to either voicemail or to another number.
- Call waiting and call holding. The facility to put the first call on hold whilst you answer another call.
- Call forwarding. This allows you to answer a call and then forward the call to put this person through to someone else.
- Call barring. This facility can be used to restrict outgoing or incoming calls, often for security and cost reasons. (Note: the international call bar should be lifted before you can make and receive calls when you are roaming abroad.)
- Calling-line identity presentation and restriction. This is a service that lets you see the number of the person trying to call you before you answer the phone. This may only be available on certain calls.
- Text messaging. This is a feature of a GSM phone, where compatible handsets can accept and display text messages transmitted from a variety of sources.
- Dual band GSM 900/1800. You can use the Vodafone network if you have a GSM 900 or 1800 handset, or if you have a dual-band handset.
