Brand New From Moby
Highly-anticipated new album from the pioneering platinum-selling artist
It was 1999?s breakthrough album Play that established Moby as a household name. The follow-up, 18, in 2001 confirmed his status as one of the most exciting and pioneering names in music. Both sold by the bucket-load.
What makes Moby exciting is that he refuses to be pigeonholed: he makes dance, rock, ambient and heavy metal records. He has written classical music, DJed, headlined Glastonbury and closed the Olympics for an audience of 2 billion people.
He has remixed and produced everyone from the Beastie Boys to Metallica, toured with David Bowie and sung duets with Elton John and Bono.
It?s no wonder then that his fifth studio album, Hotel, out on 14th March, is so highly anticipated.
Hotel was recorded and mixed once again in his own apartment and is beautifully eclectic, mixing quiet instrumentals, ballads, anthems, sultry jams and electro-disco. The 14-track album is his first without samples and features Moby's vocals on ten tracks and two duets. He has played every instrument on the album (except for the live drums, played by Scott Frassetto) and is joined by singer Laura Dawn on vocals. You may have already heard the anthemic lead single to be taken from Hotel, entitled ?Lift Me Up? as it?s already been widely playlisted.
But coming your way is a Moby-filled spring, here are just a few highlights of where you can catch him.
