Hickory, North Carolina, December 17, 2004 - Corning Cable Systems, part of Corning Incorporated’s telecommunications segment, is announcing a price increase in select non-contract and select list prices for products across its cable and hardware product portfolio.

Commodity raw materials that Corning Cable Systems uses to produce its products, such as plastics and metals, continue to increase in cost, and energy costs to produce these products are also rising. These manufacturing cost increases have necessitated a price increase in select non-contract and select list prices throughout Corning Cable Systems’ fiber optic and copper product portfolio. The new pricing structure will take effect during Q1 2005.

“Our main objective has always been to provide our customers with the highest-quality products and services available, and we will continue to meet that commitment,” said Larry Aiello, president and CEO of Corning Cable Systems. “However, with our manufacturing costs continuing to rise, we have been left with no choice but to selectively raise prices.”
