| ceramic membrane filters for liquid filtration Cellular ceramic filters for liquid filtration Using proprietary separations technology, Corning is developing a range of ceramic membrane filters that clarify, separate and decontaminate liquids. These filters will help the petrochemical, food and beverage processing, and waste-water treatment industries to meet liquid purity requirements. Our membrane filters are being designed to be rugged, high-performance and cost-effective in various applications, from fruit juice clarification and filtration to the removal of oil from wastewater streams. Their compact design will offer the opportunity to realize lower capital and operating costs due to decreased piping, valving and pumping requirements. Using advanced ceramic compositions, our membranes are designed to withstand high operating temperatures and are unaffected by oxidants, organic or hydrocarbon solvents and steam. Because of their ceramic structure, these filters are expected to have a lifetime of years rather than months.
