mmO2 supports Asian Tsunami disaster fund

In response to events in Asia, mmO2 has made an initial £30,000 charitable donation to The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).

Under mmO2's existing employee matched funding scheme the company will donate £1 for each £1 donated by mmO2 employees.

The UK's major mobile operators have joined forces for the first time to create a tax free donation mechanism. Customers of 3, O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone can text "DONATE" to 83321 so that £1.50 is added to their bill or deducted from their credit. All money is donated to the disaster relief fund, co-ordinated by the Disasters Emergency Committee with no charges applied.

In making this response, mmO2 is keen to reassure existing beneficiaries of mmO2's community and charitable investment that this is additional funding.
