1. What is a PDF file and how do I use it?
A PDF file (Portable Document Format) is a means of distributing electronic information containing images, text, sound and even movies between many different types of computers. A file created in Windows® will look the same on a Macintosh®, DOS or even a UNIX machine. The software that allows this to happen is Adobe Acrobat® Reader. You need to have this free software on your computer to view PDF files. To get it just click on the get Acrobat® Reader icon below, and you are on your way. Be sure to get the installation instructions for your computer so you can properly set up the Acrobat® Reader helper application with your web browser.

2. How do I view a PDF file in my browser?
If you have installed the Acrobat Reader® and browser plug-in correctly when you select a PDF file the browser will automatically launch the Acrobat Reader® and open the PDF file directly into your browser window.

3. How do I download a PDF file to my computer?
When you select a PDF file with the browser plug-in correctly installed, the file will be opened with Acrobat Reader® into your web browser. Or, you can override this by following the steps below.

    In most browsers you can right mouse click (Windows®) or click and hold (Macintosh®) the file and the browser will provide a menu with an option to download or save the file to your computer.

      Windows - with Windows just right mouse click on the item you want to download. A menu will appear with a few options. Select the option that reads either: Download link to disk or Save this link as.... Both options will open a window allowing you to save the file wherever you want.

4. How do I download a JPEG image from the Cooper Power Tools site?
Click on the link for the image. After the image has drawn on your screen - right mouse click on the image (Windows®) or click and hold on the image (Macintosh®) and save the file to your hard drive.
