Ammonium Phosphate
Ammonium Phosphate products include:
The primary industrial use of ammonium phosphate is in effluent treatment. Some industrial plants produce by-product organic compounds that must be removed from effluent (production wastewater) before it can be safely released into rivers or lakes. Ammonium phosphate is used as a nutrient (food) source for bacteria used in the bio-oxidation process. The bacteria effectively decompose (convert) organic compounds into carbon dioxide and water.
Ammonium Phosphate products are formed by reacting high grade phosphoric acid with ammonia under controlled conditions. The resulting solution contains both nitrogen and phosphorus.
The liquid is turned into a granular product in the granulator. The granular product is dried and screened.
Product that is too small or too large is recycled to the granulator.
