Dawn broke this morning and the 4-mini-van entourage moved south to Playa Hermosa his miring in search if the high tide barely beach breaks that the area is renown for.

On arrival the crew was greeted by rain and onshore winds with a bumpy mess of waves, no body was enthused. So, it was back into the vans and a return to 3-4ft left hand peelers that were on offer at Bocca Barranca.

Event directors ran the 5 heats required to finish the 20-heat first round and decided to quite for the day as the breeze kicked in from the south (on-shore). That concluded the first round. The tabulators then took over to calculate the top-16 surfers that go through to the second round man-on-man section of the contest.
