The ?Toys for Tots? organization is rolling through town this Holiday season, and is aiming to deliver more than 100,000 toys to kids in Western Washington. So now is the time to drop off toy donations for children ranging in age from infant to teen. Don?t forget, Toys for Tots will operate donation stations at Northwest Hot Springs on Iowa Street in Bellingham, and on the West side of I-5, across from Cascade Mall in Burlington. | | | | 11/27/2004 | - 12/4/2004 | Night of 1,000 Stars | | | | Whatcom County Police will be out in full-force Friday in search of impaired and dangerous drivers. The effort is part of the statewide ?Night of 1,000 Stars? program. The event symbolizes the work of Washington state?s badges to thwart drunk driving accidents. Last year, state officers removed 318 impaired drivers during the program night. Of course, local officers urge you and your loved ones to avert tragedy by drinking responsibly and traveling by cab, with a sober driver or just staying home if you are impaired. | | | | 11/30/2004 | - 12/22/2004 | Home for the Holidays with Heidi Grant Murphy | | | | It?s difficult to imagine what Christmas would be without holiday music ? which is why Bellingham native Heidi Grant Murphy is bringing the winter tunes to Western Washington University at 7 p.m. Dec. 22 in the Performing Arts Center. Heidi?s ?Home for the Holidays? benefit concert will feature professional holiday performances, carols and sing-a-long with countless musical luminaries.
