Attorneys for Blankenship motioned to have the charges dismissed, as well as to lower his bond and make prosecutors produce all the evidence they have against him. Blankenship was arrested after an Internet sting in which police say he thought he was meeting a 13-year-old girl to have sex with. That 13-year-old girl was actually an undercover police officer. Blankenship is one of a number of men who Diamond police officer Jim Murray has chatted with on the Internet in chat rooms. The suspects in the cases believe they are chatting with a teenage girl and police say they offer to meet the girl for sex. Blankenship resigned his position with O'Sullivan Industries after his arrest last week. Prosecutors say his laptop computer was seized and they believe it contains information that appears to be illegal. Blankenship will be back in court in late February. | | | | |
