BLOOMINGTON, Minn. ? The Toro Company (NYSE:TTC) continues its tradition of helping to prepare the world?s premiere golf venues including a leader in international competition, the Ryder Cup Matches. Toro has been named the Preferred Supplier of Turf Care Equipment for the K Club in Ireland, host of the 2006 Ryder Cup event. Earlier this week, the company announced it is the preferred supplier for this year?s Ryder Cup Matches at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Mich. This announcement furthers the Toro legacy of providing both maintenance equipment and irrigation products to prepare and maintain Ryder Cup venues. Toro was also the preferred supplier the 1997 event held at Valderrama Golf Club in Spain. Toro?s history as the preferred supplier and sponsor can be traced through a litany of Ryder Cups, British Opens, U.S. Opens and many other golf majors and renowned international competitions. "The K Club is delighted with the partnership agreement with Toro," said Paul Crowe, K Club Director of Golf. "Having worked with Toro for many years the decision was easy. Their machinery and all round support is simply the best to satisfy the needs of our Resort." The K Club in County Kildare, Ireland, will host the 36th Ryder Cup Matches Sept. 22-24, 2006. The competition will be waged on the Arnold Palmer-designed Palmer Course of the golf resort, which is also a regular stop on the PGA Europe Tour. This will mark the first time the Ryder Cup has been contested in Ireland. The K Club?s (www.kclub.ie) Palmer Course will provide a challenge for golfers and require them to deliver their best effort. The 2004 Ryder Cup Matches, at Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan, are the 35th in the series that dates back to 1927. Oakland Hills has hosted six U.S. Opens and two PGA Championships and it becomes the 18th U.S. course to host the event. The matches are scheduled on the Oakland Hills South Course Sept. 14-19, 2004.
