11AM – 2 PM Jim Rome takes the baton from John, Lance and the Morning Crew, giving his clones a fun and unique spin on the national sports scene in “The Jungle”. The Jim Rome show debuted on SportsRadio 610 on February 10, 1997. Since that time "Clones" have been flocking to their radios to hear Jim's take and smack on sports and the world in general.
SportsRadio 610 and Jim Rome have recently reached a new 3 year deal that guarantees Houstonians a healthy dose of great takes for years to come.
A graduate of UC Santa Barbara in 1987 with a degree in Communications, Jim Rome is inarguably one of the best sports broadcasters there is. His self-confident demeanor and unique vernacular are infectious and addictive. Rome began his radio career in Santa Barbara doing traffic and local sports. From there an all sports station in San Diego enlisted the budding star. His one-of-a-kind, brash manner struck a chord with listeners and The Jungle was born. Jim lives in California with his wife Janet and their two children.
