MIC's Investment Group (MICIG) pursues both strategic and financial investments, ranging from minority investment in promising companies and funds to majority buy-out in a variety of industries. These activities are conducted by two key affiliates, Red Diamond Capital, Inc. and MC Capital Inc. Red Diamond Capital, Inc. (RDC) is a $150 million corporate buyout fund that invests in established middle market North American manufacturing, distribution and service businesses in partnership with proven management. Founded in April 2002, Red Diamond is led by experienced professionals with extensive backgrounds in private equity. MC Capital, Inc. was founded in 1990 and is wholly owned by Mitsubishi Corporation. MC Capital carries out merchant banking activities and handles private equity investments in the U.S., with the dual objectives of generating financial returns and creating strategic benefits to Mitsubishi Corporation and its affliates. MC Capital, Inc. also offers financial advisory services, mainly to foreign companies and their U.S. affiliates through MC Financial Services, Inc., an NASD-registered broker dealer. Furthermore, MICIG assists our other MIC business groups in their efforts to identify and realize new business opportunities through investment and acquisitions. |
