| 1933 : the Saur Company (Société d'Aménagement Urbain et Rural = Company for Urban and Rural Development) was created. Saur specializes in the production and distribution of drinking water and the treatment of wastewater. |  | In the sixties : Saur developed its activities on the French territory and was awarded significant contracts by clients such as the city of Nimes. Internationally, the Ivory Coast subsidiary Sodeci was created. In the seventies : The Group's subsidiary Stereau, specializing in engineering and construction activities, was created. In the eighties : Saur continued its development in France with new contracts in Aix-les-Bains, Brive and Saumur. It served more than one million consumers and totaled 16 regional offices in France. Stereau was awarded contracts to build stations in Nimes, Orleans and Colmar. | |
| At the same time, Saur's international activities continued to grow and covered the Congo, Guinea, Mali, Senegal Zaire, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain and Poland. |
1984 : Saur diversified its activities into waste management with the creation of Coved in France. The Bouygues Groupe acquired a majority stake in Saur. 1990 : Saur extended its services with the creation of Compagnie Ivoirienne d’Electricité, a company operating in electricity distribution in Ivory Coast |  |
| 1994 : Bouygues and Electricité de France (EDF) created Saur International in which international activities were consolidated. Saur International continued to expand with the creation of subsidiaries in Ivory Coast and Guinea specializing in electricity generation and a subsidiary in Senegal focusing on water supply and treatment. 1997 : aur took over Cise, the environment subsidiary of the Saint Gobain Corporation. The Saur Group then became the France’s and world third largest water public utilities operator. 2000 : Saur's subsidiary Cise changed its name to Saur in France in order to conglomerate all the Group's water-related activities in France inside the new entity. 2001 :EDF sold its stake in Saur to Bouygues and Saur became a wholly owned subsidiary of Bouygues. 2003 : Stereau acquires 75% of the spanish Company of Ingéniérie Idagua specialized in the treatment of water of process. Coved sold its waste incineration subsidiary Cideme and Saur disposed its UK water distribution subsidiary South East Water. 2004: Coved acquired Sorediv and AMD, which specialize in industrial waste management. 1st semester 2005: Bouygues sold 90% of the Saur Group (excluding Saur’s Italian operations and African operating subsidiaries that Bouygues agrred to retain) to funds managed by PAI partners. |
