CanalPlay introduces permanent downloads for burning

Nearly a year after its launch, CanalPlay, the video download site from Canal+ Group, is introducing a new version of its Web site, featuring a redesigned format and ergonomics, new group functions and more.
To mark the occasion, CanalPlay is also unveiling an innovative offer: permanent downloads for burning onto DVD. The concept is simple: after downloading the video of their choice (from among the more than 2000 videos available on CanalPlay, including nearly 1300 films), users can save the video permanently on their PC, view it as many times as they like and even, for the first time in Europe, burn a single, secure copy of the video onto a DVD that can be read on any home DVD player. Permanent downloading is available for films in the CanalPlay catalog at a starting price of ?9.99.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade makes a record-breaking début

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade has already shattered all sales records. Released simultaneously in North America, Europe, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia on January 16 (and on January 17 in Australia and New Zealand), the massively multiplayer extension from Blizzard Entertainment (a Vivendi Games studio) racked up sales of nearly 2.4 million copies in just 24 hours! By the end of the first day, over 1.7 million players had logged on to play the new version of the game online.
Prior to the launch of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, World of Warcraft was already the most successful subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game in history with over eight million players around the world, including more than two million in North America and over 1.5 million in Europe.
