Tech Day held with Chery in Wuhu, China Faurecia organized a Tech Day for the Chinese automaker Chery in June 2006. The event involved the Automotive Seating, (seat) Structures & Mechanisms and Interior Systems Product Groups and was held at Chery's Automotive Engineering Research Institute (AERI) in Wuhu, China. This event represented an important opportunity for the Group to introduce its expertise, technology and products to a major Chinese automaker. The meeting was attended by several of Chery's senior managers, as well as many other engineers and specialists in seating, interior design, purchasing and quality.
The meeting kicked off with a general presentation of Faurecia that focused on its interior vehicle activities and its business presence in China. This was followed up with a detailed presentation of the Group's current products and technologies in seat mechanisms and frames, complete seats and interior systems. The presentation emphasized the Group's capabilities in terms of supplying products for low-end vehicles and seat frames built on shared platforms. Faurecia's considerable experience in using these technologies and manufacturing processes in China and Europe was also highlighted.
Following the Tech Day, Chery requested a series of technical meetings with experts in each Product Group. During these meetings, the automaker's purchasing and engineering staff went into further details about the Group's offer.
