In line with its strategy of Excellence for the benefit of its customers, the way Faurecia manages its human resources is something that sets it apart in the market and is one of the keys to its success. There are two key aspects to this strategy: Employee Empowerment and the development of engineers and managers. One of the fundamental levers of Faurecia?s industrial performance, Employee Empowerment forms the basis of the Faurecia Excellence System (FES). Its purpose is to develop the role of management and the skills of the Group?s personnel. To identify and resolve problems quickly and as close as possible to the place where they occur, the company has opted to increase job flexibility and promote the concept of multiskilled operators. Similarly, the use of tried and tested working methods such as QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) strengthens the bond between workers thus helping to make them more efficient. Operational communication has also been developed. This is accompanied by extensive employee involvement as part of a continuous improvement initiative. Each team is responsible for defining its own performance indicators, measuring them and improving them. More generally, career development is considered a fundamental driving force behind the production system. For all these reasons, Faurecia promotes the development of its personnel by helping to increase their employability. | | | | | Haut | | | Capitalizing on and developing our skills internally Above and beyond Employee Empowerment, the Group is permanently focused on developing the skills and motivation of its engineers and managers, taking account of the specialized nature of the professions involved and the need to capitalize continually on its savoir-faire in order to retain perfect control over the development of its programs. Faurecia first encourages its engineers and managers to deepen their skills in their current job and acquire experience. Mobility between functions then provides an opportunity to develop new technical skills and acquire managerial skills. In all cases, individuals are given opportunities for advancement within the Group according to their performance and potential. The aim is to generate the next generation of top managers and experts internally. Particular attention is paid to the management of career moves within the company to ensure that they remain appropriate in the short and medium term. Annual appraisals, career interiors and individual development planning play a decisive role in this area. The roles of ?expert? and ?manager? are crucial for Faurecia and the Group is very keen that they should enjoy the same level of recognition and prospects. | | | | | Haut | | | Recognizing and developing expertise Faurecia has defined a career path designed to put experts on an equal footing with managers in terms of visibility, career prospects and recognition. These experts could work in either product development or production processes. Three grades have been created: Expert, Senior Expert and Master Expert. At Faurecia, all managers play a crucial role in staff development. Both operational and functional managers are involved in evaluating their colleagues? performance and potential. The functional managers are leaders in terms of developing professional skills, allocating resources and career management. Human Resources takes care of the career management process. | | | | | Haut | | | Faurecia University In addition, Faurecia University designs and implements training programs that promote the development of leadership among the Group?s current and future executive managers. By increasingly intensifying and structuring its training policy, the Group shows its ambitions with regard to the development of its employees. A dynamic approach has been developed, both in the management of international interns and those on training courses from the top technical schools. It should help attract talented young people and will be gradually extended to other countries, taking account of specific local conditions.
