PCMCIA-USIB, USB 2.0 USIB and Firewire-USIB interface cables are designed to provide BUS power to all Addonics Pocket Series of storage devices. Since the power from the USB port, Firewire port and PCMICA slot varies from different computers, BUS power sometimes may not be sufficent to reliably power the external storage device.

iLink port commonly found in many Notebook computers do not provide any power to the port. CardBus to USB 2.0 adapter and CardBus to Firewire adapter also provide very little power. Under these situations, USB power cable or the Dual Input USB power cable can be a good solution, besides the battery pack, to provide power to the Addonics Pocket storage devices.
