In 1962, Lender's® expanded beyond the geographic limitations of the New Haven bakery by introducing the first frozen bagel to the grocery channel. Under the management of Harry Lender's three sons, the business expanded nationally over the next decade. By 1984 the Lender brothers had built Lender's® into the leading bagel brand, generating approximately $58 million in gross sales.

Product Description
While its main competitors are regional, only Lender's® has a strong national presence and is the only brand that successfullycompetes in each of the frozen, fresh/bread aisle, and refrigerated scannable grocery segments. Current product offerings in the frozen section include Plain, Cinnamon Swirl, Onion, Blueberry and Egg among other flavors in both the Lender's Original® and Lender's Big 'n Crusty® products. Lender's® fresh offering, Lender's Bagel Shop Bagels®, come in assorted flavors including Honey Wheat, Blueberry and Egg as well as the traditional Plain, Onion and Cinnamon Raisin. Finally, our refrigerated product, Lender's Premium Refrigerated® can be found in all your favorite flavors.
