Cypress' PSoC(R) mixed-signal arrays are programmable systems-on-chips (SOCs) that integrate a microcontroller and the analog and digital components that typically surround it in an embedded system. A single PSoC device can integrate as many as 100 peripheral functions with a microcontroller, saving customers design time, board space, power consumption, and from 5 cents to as much as $10 in system costs.
Easy-to-use development tools enable designers to select the precise peripheral functionality they desire, including:
- Analog functions (amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, filters and comparators)
- Digital functions (timers, counters, PWMs, SPI and UARTs)
- Communications interface (I2C, SPI, USB...).
The PSoC family's analog features include:
- Rail-to-rail inputs
- Programmable gain amplifiers and up to 14-bit ADCs with exceptionally low noise
- Low input leakage and input voltage offset.
PSoC devices include:
- Up to 32 KB of flash memory
- 2 KB of SRAM
- An 8x8 multiplier with 32-bit accumulator
- Power and sleep monitoring circuits.
PSoC Designer(TM), the free Integrated Development Environment for PSoC, is a full-featured, GUI-based design tool suite that enables the user to configure design-in silicon with simple point and click options. With PSoC Designer, users can code the device in either 'C' or Assembly language and debug the design using features such as event triggers and multiple break points, while single stepping through code in 'C' or Assembly or a mix of the two. PSoC Designer is free and can be downloaded at http://www.cypress.com/psocdesigner.
PSoC Programmer is used as a standalone application to program PSoC devices via Intel HEX files." It can also be launched from within PSoC Designer to program a device from an open project. http://www.cypress.com/psocprogrammer.
PSoC Express(TM) enables the engineer to go from concept to embedded ASIC in one hour or less." PSoC Express is a free, code-free, visual design tool. Designers have access to libraries of temp. sensors, switches, potentiometers, FETs, fans, and more. This tool also auto-generates a data sheet, schematic, and bill of materials. Plus, you can easily port designs to full-featured PSoC Designer. PSoC Express is free and can be downloaded at www.cypress.com/psocexpress.
PSoC CapSense is the future of buttons, sliders, and touch-pads." It is economical, reliable, and available NOW.
