Dragon reveals top traits for tycoons

Dragons' Den star Peter Jones speaks exclusively to Daltons Business

Dragons' Den star Peter Jones speaks exclusively to Daltons Business

Peter Jones, best known as a panellist on TV?s Dragons? Den, has revealed to Daltons Business what he looks for in a business person.

Jones said: "The three things I want to see are passion, determination and a great idea."

He added that a good start up must be able to make money fast ? within six months at the most.

Jones has launched a nationwide search for people with "killer business ideas". The search will form the basis of a new show on ITV - Tycoon.

Jones will invest his own cash in the six best businesses. It is thought he?s willing to invest around £10,000 in each venture.

Jones is currently touring the country setting up forums where budding business people can pitch their ideas to him, Dragons? Den-style.

Today he was at Business Start Up exhibition at Birmingham?s NEC, where Daltons Business grabbed a few words with him. The free event for small businesses is also open on Saturday.

For more on Jones? mission visit www.itv.com/tycoon and see the next edition of Daltons Business magazine (Daltons.biz).
