Affiliate membership gives early access to the Symbian OS Developer Library and Technology Preview Kit. You can read more details about these products below.
How do I get it?
If you are a member of the Forum Nokia Pro, Cingular devCentral Deluxe or Orange Premium Partner developer programs you automatically gain complimentary Affiliate Partner membership. This grants you free, early access to Symbian OS documentation.
If you're not yet a member of an affiliated developer community, follow the links on the right to join up.

Early access to Symbian OS documentation FREE
Symbian Developer Library
Updated monthly, this is the Developer Library that Symbian produces for phone manufacturers to modify and include in their SDKs.
It provides early access to generic Symbian public API documentation before you can get it in an SDK, including:
- A comprehensive introduction to the latest release of Symbian OS
- System overviews
- C++ API Guide with subsystem by subsystem overviews of all key APIs
- Using and How To topics which provide detailed discussion and coding examples for many of the most frequently used APIs.
- Symbian OS reference, the definitive source of reference information for all Symbian OS C++ APIs, including C++ component reference, the Resources reference and the System panic references. The C++ API reference describes the C++ types that provide operating system services to programs.
Full Affiliate Membership - Early access to Symbian OS APIs $1,000 p/a
Technology Preview Kit.
The Symbian OS Technology Preview Kit provides early access to public â??publish allâ?? APIs. It is suitable for developers needing to evaluate APIs that only become available when a mobile phone is released with its associated smartphone SDK.
The Technology Preview Kit and is available only from Symbianâ??s Affiliate website.
It includes the public Symbian OS components available to mobile phone manufacturers licensing Symbian OS:
- Access to public â??publish allâ?? application programming interfaces
- Symbian tools including a build system and ROM building tools, it also includes the GCC compiler for generating ARM and Thumb binaries (pre v9) and the new GCC-E compiler for generating ARMv5 binaries (post v9)
Branding and partner promotion for both membership levels
Partners have exclusive use of the program logo as well as a variety of other Symbian, Symbian OS and compatibility related logos, which can be found here.
Charges and conditions
Basic membership is free if you're member of an affiliated developer program. You simply sign a licence for unrestricted access to the Symbian Developer Library.
Full membership includes the Technology Preview Kit at an annual fee of US$1,000 through the Affiliate Extranet.
Technical support is not included in the membership fee and is available from Symbian and its partners under separate terms and conditions.
