Statement of Values for Suppliers

In our passionate pursuit of manufacturing the finest in performance athletic apparel, Hind has long endeavored to place superior craftsmanship as the foremost attribute in our business model. Our heritage for the last thirty years has focused on product comprised of high quality workmanship, continual innovation and outstanding fit and performance.
Central to the corporate and social responsibilities policy at Hind are the guidelines given to our production partners worldwide. These guidelines clearly convey the principles which guarantee the rights of the individual in the workplace.
Hind seeks to partner with suppliers who follow these rules of conduct in the country / countries in which they operate. We have developed these guidelines for our manufacturing partners to clearly communicate our expectations.
- COMPENSATION & BENEFITS.
Employees must not be paid lower than the legal minimum wage for the services rendered as established by the local or national law. Each employee must also receive accurate documentation of the wages earned for the associated pay period. Workers may not be withheld pay as a disciplinary or corrective measure for work performance. The production partner should provide to all employees all benefits as required by local law. Employers should compensate employees for additional hours worked, beyond those scheduled, at the rate of local or national law.
- FORCED / COMPULSORY LABOR.
Suppliers must not use any type of forced or coercive labor practices including, but not limited to prison, indentured servanthood, bonded labor, political or organizational coercion. Partners should endeavor to maintain documentation demonstrating hiring practices for each employee.
- NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY.
Our suppliers shall not discriminate based on race, nationality, gender, age, religion, disability, marital status, association memberships, sexual orientation or political affiliation.
- CHILD LABOR POLICY.
Our business partners are required to abide by local child labor laws and never employ anyone of an age less than 15 or of an age younger than necessary that to achieve compulsory education in the country of manufacture.
- WORK HOURS.
Each individual who works for our suppliers should not be required to work more than the limits on regular and overtime hours allowed by the law of the country of manufacture.
- FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION & COLLECTIVE BARGAINING.
We believe it is the right of employees to both organize and join associations of their own choosing and to engage in collective bargaining. Where law prohibits forming associations, the factory should engage in open and fair communication practices with employees.
- SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT.
We ask our suppliers to provide employees with a safe and hygienic working environment. Occupational health and safety practices designed to prevent on the job accidents and injury should be clearly promoted. Specific areas to address but not be limited to are protection from fire, accidents, and toxic substances. Basics needs such as lighting, heating and ventilation systems should be adequately provided as well. Employees must be provided access at all times to sanitary facilities, which should be clean and adequate. Any employee residences should also receive equal health and safety precautions.
- ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS.
We expect the factories we partner with, and the raw material suppliers and sub contractors with which they choose to work, to be good stewards of the environment surrounding them. Waste and pollution prevention methods should be in accordance with local, state and national laws as applicable.
- COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT.
We will favor business partners who choose to give back to the communities in which they are based through the development of initiatives such as investment in infrastructure, education and training.
