| FAMM adopts ISO 8217:2005 standard for marine fuel sales On November 28, 2005, the new ISO 8217:2005 specification was announced to the industry. While the adoption of the new standard is not mandatory, FAMM anticipates the new specification will replace the existing 1995 standard as a bunker transaction baseline. Therefore, FAMM will adopt the ISO 8217:2005 standard as the specification benchmark for our marine fuel sales worldwide. Regarding the supply of marine fuels, FAMM shall execute the following: · FAMM's existing term contracts will continue to apply the ISO 8217:1996 standards until expiration. · All new term contracts will be subject to ISO standard negotiation. · FAMM's local supply regions will gradually transition to develop overall supply capability. · At the time of inquiry, the customer shall establish under which standard he is requesting supply. · Product availability will be confirmed by the supply port. · FAMM reserves the right to quote product with specifications that are an exception to the new standard. · Nomination confirmations must reflect the agreed delivery standard. The ISO 8217:2005 tables for distillate and heavy fuel grades detail the new standards. |
