| | | | The Comet Mino is one of Mepps most popular lures. It will catch just about any fish that swims. Bassmaster magazine named the Comet Mino one of the 10 best bass lures of all time. All Comet Minos feature an interchangeable hook that makes it simple to attach a replacement Mino. In addition, all Comet Minos are carefully airbrushed to ensure realism. Their erratic swimming action makes them appear to be a wounded bait fish. Comet Minos come in sizes #00 through #5. In fact, you can get the #5 Comet Mino with either a 3" or 4" Mino. Comet Minos are perfect for casting or trolling. Gold blades are polished brass. Silver blades are genuine silver plated. All Comet Minos run at mid-depth. | Use #2 Comet Minos for Smallmouth Bass & Walleye | | | | Smallmouth Bass | Walleye | | Use #3 #4 & #5 Comet Minos for Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Musky | | | | | Largemouth Bass | Northern Pike | Musky | Lure Selection by Species The Lure of Mepps spinners Fishing Spinners Knots | [Back to Lures] Write a product testimonial and share your fishing experiences with other customers.

I was introduced to the "COMET #3" when a good friend of mine was using it.This lure is unbelievable.Even when the fish aren't biting well they still seem not to resist the COMET.We've caught everything from bass, crappie, bluegill and even channelcat.Who needs a tackelbox when they have the COMET.Keep up the good work MEPPS. | | Reviewer: Chris Luzier (Frenchville, PA)
Bought and used a Comet 00 for trout and caught tons while other caught only few or none, liked it so much I bought a #3 and tried it for bass... First time trying it, I caught 5 or 6 bass on another lure which was my favorite, and when it died down i tried the Mepps Comet and it was the most excitement I ever had bass fishing. I caught 8 or 9 bass out of the same pond after it died down when using the other lure.. It seems they hit it even when they don't want to hit and won't hit anything else. | | Reviewer: TGIF Outfitters (Onalaska, WI)
This lure should only be available on the black market so I can keep it more of a secret. Our guides turn to this lure when the fishing gets tough. We spray the Mino with scent and use an ultra slow retrieve to dredge up huge fish. If you aren't using this yet ... you're missing it! This lure catches more fish than fishermen. I have used 00 to size 5 to catch anything that swims. I have used these lures for over 20 years and would not be without one. If I had to pack a survival kit, this would be in it. From Redfin Pike in irrigation canals here in Indiana to Northerns in Ontario, this lure is devastating!! I guess the best way to sum it up would be to say, "I collect Rapala, but I use Mepps!!!". All you have to do is cast and crank and you will catch fish. I owe my Expert Fisherman and Master Angler Awards to these!!! | | Reviewer: Brian (NJ)
I caught the biggest Bluegill off of this lure. It had to be 1 or 2 pounds! Thanks, Mepps, for making the best lures in the world. I only buy your spinners. | | Reviewer: John L. (Ashland, N.H. (Big Squam Lake))
I bought my first Mepps Comet 2 about four years ago. I was a little skeptical at first, but after using it through the first summer, I could not believe how many different fish that lure was capable of attracting and catching. Big Squam is a great smallmouth bass lake but has a large variety of fish. Using this lure, in a variety of ways, including casting, trolling, bouncing over rocks and even casting it out and letting it fall to the bottom!!! The fish just seem to believe it's a real bait fish and they attack it. I have caught Largemouth, smallmouth, salmon, pickeral, whitefish, rainbow, even a bullhead with it. My lure box has never been out of this lure since the first time I used it. Sometime's they are hard to find, so now I buy more when I do fine them...Thanks, Mepp's for the great lure... | |
