Microsoft's Hardware Recommendations for Windows Vista: - To run the Basic Windows Vista experience, Microsoft recommends a minimum of 512MB RAM.
- Systems with higher capabilities will allow you to run the user interface called Aero. This new interface is designed to be more intuitive, lifelike and visually interesting than anything you have experienced before.
To run the Windows Vista Aero experience, Microsoft recommends: - A system with a modern processor.
- A minimum of 1GB or more of Dual Channel memory (two or more memory modules) or 512 MB of system memory PLUS a premium graphics card such as ATI or NVIDIA.
- More fully featured systems generally can provide a richer Windows Vista experience.

Microsoft Windows Vista introduces a vast number of new technologies to enhance the stability and security of your PC. However, some pre-installed software, designed to work with Windows XP, may loose functionality or even stop working as a consequence of these technological advances. During the upgrade to Windows Vista, some software titles may be uninstalled or altered to avoid compatibility problems.
For some titles, an update might be available, in other cases there might not be a solution and you will not be able to use that title after the upgrade. Please check the Packard Bell website for updates regularly.

| IMPORTANT: BACKUP YOUR DATA BEFORE UPGRADING Before upgrading the operating system on your computer it is very important to backup all data that you do not wish to be lost or damaged during the process.
How to backup your data
A fast and simple way to back up your data is to use a Packard Bell Store and Save, with this external storage device you just need to copy your data from your computer and place it on the device for safe keeping! All your data is stored safely during the upgrade process. Visit to find out more about our Store and Save and other external storage solutions from Packard Bell. You can also back up your data by burning it to CD’s or DVD’s with the CD/ DVD writing software Installed on your Packard Bell computer.

After you have installed Windows Vista, you may use the Easy Transfer Tool
Windows Easy Transfer is a new feature in Windows Vista that allows you to transfer files and settings from one Windows computer to another. Using Windows Easy Transfer, you can choose what to transfer to your new computer and how to transfer it. To access the program click on Start, > All Programs, > Accessories, > System Tools, and then click on Windows Easy Transfer in the list, and follow the on screen instructions. A detailed description of Windows Easy Transfer and a step by step guide can be found on your local Microsoft Web site. You can also find information on the program in the Windows Help and Support section in Windows Vista. Note that Windows Easy Transfer does not attempt to move applications program files, only data and application settings. Applications must be reinstalled. |
| OFFER TERMS & CONDITIONS
Persons ordering their Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ upgrades are deemed to acknowledge acceptance of the terms and conditions of the present offer:
1. Offer solely applies for the country of purchase. It is reserved for customers purchasing Packard Bell computers delivered with Microsoft® Windows® XP, Microsoft® Windows® XP PRO, or Microsoft® Windows® Media Center Edition (Packard Bell configuration) between October 26th 2006 and March 15th 2007.
2. Orders must reach us by March 31st 2007 (date of posting evidenced by postmark).
3. Your upgrade shall be supplied in the language version of Microsoft® Windows® operating system installed on your computer. (Subject to availability). Delivery addresses must be situated in the country of purchase.
4. Your upgrade offer is solely valid for your own computer. In the event more than one order is received for the same computer all shall be automatically refused. This condition also applies for all orders bearing identical computer serial numbers or Certificate of Authenticity codes.
5. Orders for Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ upgrade shall be processed by ModusLink on behalf of Packard Bell. The upgrade version is governed by the terms and conditions of your original Microsoft® Windows® operating system licence and must be used on the same computer.
6. Packard Bell reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions of the offer, including date of expiry, without limitations or prior notice, at any point in time.
7. The present offer is subject to product availability. Your upgrade offer entitles you to a single copy of the Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ upgrade.
8. Your Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ upgrade will be sent to you in the language version ordered, in the country where you live, within 4 to 6 weeks after the product release date, depending on availability. Some software and hardware may be incompatible with Microsoft® Windows® Vista™. Solely software and hardware supplied on your computer at the time of purchase are covered by Packard Bell’s Warranty and support services.
9. Any information disclosed to Packard Bell shall solely be used for the purposes of processing your upgrade order. It shall not be disclosed to third parties nor used for commercial ends. Packard Bell undertakes to ensure the confidentiality of all information provided. In any event, you have the right to consult, alter or contest your personal data.
