The REI Ridgeline multiday pack features a lightweight, tubular aluminum frame for excellent load support, and an ActiveMotion? hipbelt with a Delrin® rod to keep the pack balanced and stable. It tips the scales a shade under 4.5 lbs. thanks to lightweight but strong 630 denier nylon fabric, but still offers a full list of features such as a J-zip front opening for easy access; molded foam back panel with air channels to keep you cool and dry; and mesh side pockets for storing maps and snacks.

Fine-Tuned Suspension Systems: Load support is dialed in to match the volume of the pack and intended weight it will be carrying.

Tubular frames: Hollow aluminum frames and/or stays cut weight without sacrificing strength.

Improved hipbelt support: An inner Delrin® rod distributes the load evenly around the hips for flexibility, balance and comfort.

Updated fabric: New fabrics are more abrasion resistant at virtually the same weight.

Cooler back panels: Molded-in ventilation channels allow perspiration to exit.

Hipbelt exchanges for a perfect fit: Trade out your hipbelt on the Mars, Venus and Ridgeline packs for a different size to get a custom fit for your torso/hip proportions.

More women-specific packs: Designed with shorter torso lengths, reshaped shoulder straps in the bust area and extra belt padding over the hip bones.
