Several members of the Falcons organization, including several players and staffers, along with celebrities and local sponsors took to the bowling lanes for charity on Tuesday night in the second annual Atlanta Falcons Celebrity FootBowl Tournament, presented by Verizon Wireless.
The FootBowl Tournament, held at Jillian's in Discover Mills Mall, benefits Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. All 16 lanes at Jillian's were filled with teams of six players each who got the chance to roll one game and compete for the highest team score of the night.
Emmanuel Lewis of the TV show "Webster" and American Idol runner-up and current Broadway star Diana DeGarmo, Falcons radio color commentator Dave Archer, radio sideline reporter Nicole Watson and Falcons club president & general manager Rich McKay joined Falcons stars DeAngelo Hall, Alge Crumpler, Matt Schaub, Rod Coleman, Ashley Lelie, Michael Jenkins, Austin King, Brian Finneran, D.J. Shockley Omare Lowe, Eric Beverly, Ike Reese, Darrell Shropshire, Todd McClure, Chauncey Davis and Adam Jennings to bowl in teams with attending sponsors Verizon Wireless, Delta, Reebok, NetMove, Aaron's, Gatorade, Chick-fil-A, Miller and Motorola.
Jenkins helped lead the team from Aaron's to victory in the bowling event with a combined score of 747, ahead of the team from Miller. Afterward, Archer and Watson hosted a post-tourney prize draft for each of the teams in attendance.
In addition, several autograph and gift items were up for bid in a silent auction, including a signed, framed LeBron James jersey, a Michael Vick jersey with his portrait painted on the jersey, a basketball signed by members of the 2006 NBA Champion Miami Heat and a round of golf with Schaub.
