| | Metro Area Students Get Moving at the Falcons Fitness Festival December 22, 2006 The Atlanta Falcons recently hosted nearly 300 metro Atlanta students for the team's annual Falcons Fitness Festival. The participating students completed the Falcons Fitness Challenge, and were rewarded with a trip to spend a day with Falcons players, alumni and cheerleaders at the team's indoor practice facility. Students from Jones Elementary School, Griffin Middle School, Walter F. White Elementary School, and Beecher Hills Elementary School participated in the Festival. The Falcons Fitness Challenge program, presented in partnership with Piedmont Hospital and the What Moves U NFL youth fitness initiative, encouraged teachers in schools throughout metro Atlanta to challenge students in grades three through eight to participate in physical activity for 30 minutes a day, five days per week, for a three-week period. The students also learned the importance of making smart food choices to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. Email this story | Printer-Friendly Version | |
