Complete 2007 NFL Scouting Combine coverage

A total of 11 players from either Georgia or Georgia Tech took part in the NFL Scouting Combine and here is a look at their performances in the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.

GEORGIA

Georgia DE Charles Johnson (6-2, 270): The seventh-ranked DE by NFLDraftScout.com, Johnson was sixth in his group in the 40-yard dash, second in the vertical jump, tied for third in the broad jump, 10th in the 3-cone drill (7.50 seconds), and was third in bench press reps.

Johnson, who moved into the Bulldogs starting lineup as a junior and posted 30 quarterback pressures and 9.5 sacks, said that he did not decide to come out early until late in the season. Several teams are looking at him as an outside linebacker. "Learning the linebacker skills," he said about what would be difficult about a potential transition. "Moving from a defensive end, putting you hand down, to standing up in a two-point stance is really not that different, but it's a lot different playing it in the NFL."

Johnson's Combine Results: 40-Yard: 4.84; Bench Press: 33 reps; Vertical Leap (in inches): 34; Broad Jump (feet-inches): 9-10, 3-Cone Drill: 7.50.

Georgia TE Martrez Milner (6-3, 252): The sixth-ranked TE by NFLDraftScout.com, Milner finished third in his group in the broad jump and seventh among all TEs at the Combine in the 40-yard dash.

He caught 30 passes for 425 yards and three touchdowns as a senior, but said that he worked on his possession skills during his senior season. "One of my weaknesses was catching the ball," he said. "I did put a lot of emphasis on it at the end of the season, especially after the Florida game when I had those missed catches and drops in that game. I did put more emphasis on catching the ball after practice and when I was training."

Milner's Combine Results: 40-Yard: 4.79; Bench Press: 19 reps; Vertical Leap (in inches): 34; Broad Jump (feet-inches): 9-9, 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.49; 3-Cone Drill: 7.35.

Georgia DE Quentin Moses (6-3, 252): The 10th-ranked DE by NFLDraftScout.com, Moses finished fifth in his group in the 40-yard dash, ninth in the vertical jump and sixth in the 3-cone drill.

He had 33 tackles and 4.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss in 2006 for the Bulldogs - after a 11-sack effort in his junior season in 2005. Like Johnson, teams have inquired about him moving to linebacker and he is open to the switch. "I just want to be in position where I can be successful," he said. "If guys who have been coaching the game for 20 or 30 years feel like I should play linebacker, then I will play there. I feel like they know a little bit more about the game than I do."

Moses' Combine Results: 40-Yard: 4.82; Bench Press: 17 reps; Vertical Leap (in inches): 32; Broad Jump (feet-inches): 9-7; 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.53; 3-Cone Drill: 7.38.

Georgia T Kendrick Shackleford (6-4, 322): The 25th-ranked T by NFLDraftScout.com, Shackleford started every game in 2006 for Georgia after he saw extensive time as a reserve in 2005.

Shackleford's Combine Results: 40-Yard: 5.30; Bench Press: 28 reps; Vertical Leap (in inches): 24 1/2; Broad Jump (feet-inches): 8-6; 20-Yard Shuttle: 5.05; 3-Cone Drill: 8.35.

Georgia LB Tony Taylor (6-04, 236): The 15th-ranked OLB by NFLDraftScout.com, Taylor was a second-team All-SEC as he led the team in tackles with 96 (65 solo), 7.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, 11 QB hurries, seven interceptions and two fumble recoveries in 2006. He is projected as a sixth-round pick by the site.

Taylor's Combine Results: 40-Yard: 4.92; Bench Press: 26 reps; Vertical Leap (in inches): 32; Broad Jump (feet-inches): 9-10; 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.36; 3-Cone Drill: 7.17.

Georgia RB Danny Ware (6-0, 225): The 23rd-ranked RB by NFLDraftScout.com, Ware did 21 reps in the bench press in his only reported result at the Combine. Ware was the Bulldogs second-leading rusher with 75 carries for 302 yards and three TDs. NFLDraftScout.com projects him to go in the final round of the Draft.

Ware's Combine Results: 40-Yard: NA; Bench Press: 21 reps; Vertical Leap (in inches): NA; Broad Jump (feet-inches): NA; 20-Yard Shuttle: NA; 3-Cone Drill: NA.

GEORGIA TECH

Georgia Tech WR Reggie Ball (5-11, 203): The 45th-ranked WR by NFLDraftScout.com, Ball worked out with the wide receivers at the Combine after a four-year career as Georgia Tech's starting quarterback. Ball led the ACC with 20 touchdown passes, threw for 1,820 yards and rushed for 354 yards and two TDs in 2006.

Ball's Combine Results: 40-Yard: 4.76; Bench Press: 15 reps; Vertical Leap (in inches): 30; Broad Jump (feet-inches): 9-4; 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.19; 3-Cone Drill: 6.90.

Georgia Tech LB KaMichael Hall (6-0, 228): The 11th-ranked OLB by NFLDraftScout.com, Hall was an honorable mention all-ACC selection in 2006 after a team-high 91 tackles, four sacks and four passes defensed. He is projected to be a fifth-round selection by NFLDraftScout.com

Hall's Combine Results: 40-Yard: 4.77; Bench Press: NA; Vertical Leap (in inches): 33; Broad Jump (feet-inches): 9-3; 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.62; 3-Cone Drill: 7.50.

Georgia Tech WR Calvin Johnson (6-5, 239): The top-ranked player on NFLDraftScout.com's board, Johnson was not expected to do any workouts at the Combine, but chose to run. He borrowed a pair of shoes from East Carolina QB James Pinkney, an old friend. He dropped a 4.35 time in the 40-yard dash, the third-best among wide receivers.

He had 76 receptions for 1,202 yards and 15 touchdowns for Tech in 2006 and he had 24 more catches than anyone else in the ACC and he led the conference in TD receptions. Compared physically to Randy Moss and Terrell Owens, Johnson said he is more like another receiver. "My character on the field, I'm like Marvin Harrison," he said. "I am just trying to get the job done. I'm more like Marvin with the attitude."

Johnson's Combine Results: 40-Yard: 4.35; Bench Press: did not workout; Vertical Leap (in inches): did not workout; Broad Jump (feet-inches): did not workout; 20-Yard Shuttle: did not workout; 3-Cone Drill: did not workout.

Georgia Tech CB Kenny Scott (6-1, 179): The 14th-ranked CB by NFLDraftScout.com, Scott finished tied for third in his group in the 40-yard dash and tied for fourth in the broad jump in his group.

He had 50 tackles, two interceptions and 10 pass breakups in 2006 after a 56-tackl, two-interception effort the year before. He said he learned a lot from guarding teammate WR Calvin Johnson every day at practice. "I learned the physicality that you need to take toward to the game with him weighing at 240 and me only weighing only 180," he said about the matchup. "I was definitely still physical with him. I learned at what stages of his route that I should be physical, how to alignment myself and ttaking away different routes by positioning my body just to (stop) him from getting off the ground because he has a 44 inch-plus vertical."

Scott's Combine Results: 40-Yard: 4.39; Bench Press: 10 reps; Vertical Leap (in inches): 40; Broad Jump (feet-inches): 10-7; 20-Yard Shuttle: NA3; 3-Cone Drill: NA.

Georgia Tech G Mansfield Wrotto (6-3, 317): The eighth-ranked T by NFLDraftScout.com, Wrotto was a three-year starter on the defensive line before a switch to the offensive side of the ball in 2006 as he started every game at RT. He is projected as a middle-round draft pick by NFLDraftScout.com

Wrotto's Combine Results: 40-Yard: 5.40; Bench Press: 27 reps; Vertical Leap (in inches): NA; Broad Jump (feet-inches): 7-8; 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.92; 3-Cone Drill: 8.34.
