Rio eyes Anfield victory
Rio Ferdinand is eagerly anticipating the special atmosphere United-Liverpool fixtures always produce, and the Reds defender says United will take a "never-say-die" attitude to Anfield on Saturday.
United have failed to win their last two league and Cup games on the Merseysiders' patch, but go into the Premiership clash on the back of a dramatic victory at Fulham, which took the Reds nine points clear of Chelsea, and the FA Cup fifth round win over Reading.
Sir Alex's men must break down the meanest home defence in the Premiership if they are to secure another vital three points. Rafael Benitez's side have conceded just three goals in fourteen matches at Anfield, but Ferdinand says the team remain confident of getting a result.
"We’ve got a ‘never say die’ attitude and even if we’re drawing or losing a match we always feel we can create chances no matter what stage of the game it is as you saw at Fulham last weekend," he told ManUtd.com.
"It’s always tough against Liverpool no matter what time of the season you play them because the rivalry is so big between the two cities, the two teams and both sets of fans. It all adds up to create a great atmosphere which all the players enjoy playing in.
