NICK CANNON IN LOVE, BUT NOT HITCHED
Though rumors surfaced last week that Nick Cannon had tied the knot with model Selita Ebanks in Las Vegas during the NBA All-Star weekend, Ebanks has stepped forward to squash those rumors. “I’m not married,” Ebanks told People. “We’re just two young people and we’re happy. I laugh a lot and he laughs a lot and I think that’s what’s important. I support him and he supports me.”
While a source close to the couple revealed that the two have known each other for some time, things did not heat up between the two until they crossed paths during a Super Bowl pre-party in Miami in January. Cannnon seems to be equally smitten with the 24-year-old Victoria’s Secret model. “Selita’s amazing,” Cannon gushed to People during the Vanity Fair Oscar party last Sunday. “She changed me—I’m no longer a player. She changed everything.”
LIVE LIKE RUSSELL SIMMONS…KIND OF
Hip-hop pioneer Russell Simmons has signed on with Gotham Books to pen a book that will teach readers how to find success. DO YOU! 12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success is scheduled to hit shelves April 24. The book’s title was inspired by one of the 12 rules of success that helped Simmons on his road to success.
“I really do believe that we all possess happiness and success in our hearts, and we know these laws instinctively. Yet often so many layers of negativity build up around us that we have a hard time remembering what we are capable of,” Simmons explained via press release. “These laws are shortcuts designed to help you peel back those layers so that you can return to your higher self…this book is simply a tool to help you remember how to access it.”
William Shinker, Gotham Books’ president and publisher, believes that Simmons’ words will inspire. “Russell Simmons has had an incredible career that has made him a role model for everyone…he has achieved the new American Dream and his book shows how anyone who really wants to achieve can do so, no matter what their background is,” Shinker said.
Promotion for the book will take Simmons across the country, where he will participate in appearances and book signings in 16 markets. Simmons’ book tour will take him to cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Chicago and more.
