Tonight, the "American Idol" male finalists will perform -- and America will vote! Last week, "American Idol" said goodbye to RUDY CARDENAS, PAUL KIM, AMY KREBS and NICOLE TRANQUILLO, none of whom received enough votes to continue their journey for a recording contract and the "American Idol" crown.
So, before the Final 20 competition starts -- with the guys again singing on Tuesday and the ladies on Wednesday, with the results show on Thursday -- ET spoke to the four voted-out finalists.
Krebs, who currently lives in Federal Way, WA, and entertained the audience with "I Can't Make You Love Me," was candid about the reason she believes she got her walking papers: "I think, unfortunately, I wasn't as tuned into the fact that I did a lot of up-tempo songs during Hollywood week, so I chose a ballad based on that. Unfortunately, America didn't get to see those up-tempos, which kind of went with the whole personality thing. For me, it was the first time anybody really saw what I could do, really saw my personality and who I was. I think an up-tempo [song] probably would have been a better choice."
On the other hand, Tranquillo, who hails from Philadelphia, PA, and sang "Stay," isn't second guessing herself, admitting, "I definitely have no regrets about what I sang. I thought that the song I sang was definitely me and my style. It definitely did fit my voice, I thought."
"I guess I have been getting heat for picking ['Free Ride']," Cardenas, a resident of North Hollywood, CA, told reporters. "I wanted to sing a fun song that people would enjoy. I knew I was going first. I wanted to grab the attention of the American public. I knew it showed my range. It is difficult going first."
Kim of Saratoga, CA, who sang "Careless Whisper" barefoot, blames song choice for his early "Idol" exit: "I had a list of songs and my top five didn't clear, so I had to go with number six, which I wasn't very comfortable with. You could tell by my performance that I wasn't really feeling the song."
Then, on Thursday night's results show, four more will go, and former "American Idol" competitor KELLIE PICKLER will return to the "Idol" stage to perform her new single, "I Wonder."
