The BBC has been blocked from broadcasting a Friday night lead story on the cash-for-honours affair.
Lawyers for the corporation met with the Attorney General yesterday regarding the story. The AG took out an injunction against the BBC preventing it from running with the story.
Last night the corporation said in a statement: "Our report on cash-for-honours is a legitimate matter of public interest".
