| Designated as an outstanding collection. | Hiring the Gallery Dulwich Picture Gallery is England’s oldest public art gallery - today, after extensive refurbishment it is a venue that offers top spec facilities and services. Set in the beautiful eighteenth century village of Dulwich, the Gallery is an elegant and sophisticated venue. The Gallery's enfilade, a series of five interlinking galleries, was the inspiration for the Sainsbury Wing at the National Gallery and the Getty Museum in Malibu. As well as dinners and drinks parties, it is perfect as a filming location or for photo shoots. The new extension, designed by Rick Mather Architects, echoes Soane's use of classic proportions and light. The cloister makes an ideal sheltered space for drinks, linking the building to five acres of gardens. The Linbury Room seats up to 109 guests for a pre-dinner presentation. The Gallery is situated in Zone 2 between West Dulwich and North Dulwich stations, which gives it instant and regular access from Victoria or London Bridge.
