CANALETTO IN ENGLAND: A VENETIAN ARTIST ABROAD 1746-1755
Friday 16 March, 2.30 – 6.15pm
The nine years spent by Canaletto in London (1746-1755) represent a significant period in the artist’s life both in terms of his career and his artistic production. The exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery reunites a significant number of Canaletto’s English paintings and drawings and provides a detailed survey of the Venetian artist’s sojourn in the country.
