Bubbas

"The Ultimate Bubble"

The Bubbas range of children's confectionery holds a strong leadership position in many markets. Number one bubblegum in the world is Bubbaloo with a surprise liquid centre. Bubblicious is the number one bubble gum in the US, and number three in the world. Renowned as the best gum for blowing bubbles, it is constantly introducing innovative new flavours such as Watermelon Wave and Paradise Punch.

How Bubbas came about

Bubblicious was launched in 1977 in the US as the first soft bubblegum. It rapidly became known as the "Ultimate Bubble" and has since produced a constantly changing mix of great-tasting innovative flavours.

A unique technology that could insert a liquid centre into bubblegum was developed for Bubbaloo, initially introduced in Latin America in 1984. Bubbaloo has since grown to be the number one bubble gum worldwide, based on its positioning as the "Full of Surprises" brand.

Recently Bubbaxtreme, the first lollipop with a Bubbaloo in the centre, was launched in Mexico and has quickly become the leading lollipop in that market.

Is bubblegum harmful to teeth?

Chewing gum is intended to be chewed for a longer amount of time than nearly every other food, because of its unique characteristics. If someone only chewed sugared bubblegum for a few minutes then disposed of it, the presence of sugar could potentially be harmful to teeth - like many other foods that contain sugar. Teeth are more at risk for caries development with frequent exposure to carbohydrate-containing foods. However, if bubblegum is chewed for 10 minutes, it will stimulate saliva production that will quickly neutralize the oral cavity, allowing for the body's "natural defenses" to kick in.
