LEARNING CENTER POSITIONS Pilot Instructor Positions The minimum qualifications to be a FlightSafety pilot ground school and simulator instructor are: If teaching on a type rating aircraft the instructor must have an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate (ATP). Pilot in Command (PIC) time of 2,000 hours or more is preferred. If teaching on an aircraft not requiring a type rating the instructor must have an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate and instrument rating. Pilot in Command (PIC) time of 1,000 hours or more is preferred. All instructors must have a FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating. If a CFI is not held other documented ratings and prior experience will be considered such as Ground Instructor Certificate (AGI) with an Instrument rating, military pilot instructor experience, or experience as a pilot instructor in a Part 142, 135 or 121 operation. Note: All FlightSafety instructors will be hired to teach both ground school and simulator thus the higher qualification requirements of simulator instruction are stated. Must have a working knowledge of industry components, materials, certification requirements, CAD, spreadsheet and PC system related software. Working knowledge of at least two areas of mechanical engineering (mechanical or electro-mechanical design, dynamics, structural, control system, or materials) techniques and procedures. Analyzes and develops design concepts and detailed designs as directed or based on project requirements utilizing experience, engineering analysis, design information and manufacturing knowledge. Provides substantiating analysis; directs designers and drafters; provides support for manufacture and checkout; and troubleshoots problems related to installed systems. NAVIGATION SOFTWARE ENGINEER #2282 Simulation System Division, Tulsa, OK BS in engineering or Computer Science or equivalent education and experience. Must have math through Calculus, Fortran, C/C++. Five years experience with FMS avionics equipment design and software development. AUTOFLIGHT ENGINEER #2229 Simulation Systems Division BS Degree in Engineering, Aerospace or Electrical preferred or equivalent. The primary function of this job is to design and checkout auto flight systems on aircraft simulators. Must be proficient in FORTRAN, UNIX, PC-NT and must have familiarity with aircraft and aircraft terminology in general. Specific knowledge of aircraft systems including flight guidance and autopilot, air data, avionics and navigation, flight and flight control systems is required. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, transfer function diagrams, simplified mechanical drawings and block diagrams. Must have the ability to translate the above into FORTRAN CODE. Candidates with 6 years related experience will be considered for Principal Engineer, candidates with 3 years related experience will be considered for a Senior Engineer, and candidates with 1 year related experience will be considered for a Design Engineer. SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER #2226 Simulation Systems Division, Tulsa, OK BSEE/BSEET with CS Minor or BSCS, with five years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in C, C++, assembly language, embedded software design, thread programming and graphics API. Familiarity with Window Dev Studio, Windows 2000, XP, Microsoft Office and UNIX tools and real-time operating systems. Avionics including ARINC 653 and FMS systems desirable. Responsibilities include the retarget of embedded avionic software to a simulation environment, design and documentation of a software interface to retargeted software, as well as test, evaluate and debug integrated simulation. SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/AIC #2227 Simulation System Division, Tulsa, OK BSEE w/ CS Minor or BSCS or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Five years experience in embedded software and hardware design. Experience in C, Unix, Real-time operating systems such as VxWorkds and RTLinux and FPGA/CPLD design required. VME, ORCAD and AutoCAD is desirable. Responsibilities include research, design and maintain serial data bus interfaces to drive the avionics systems required for the operation of a full flight simulator or other training devices.
