THE SHORKEY CENTER will present a series of activities and camps this summer for children with special needs. Classes include: • START, an art camp for children to learn techniques and create their own art projects • Adaptive Aquatics, swimming and water safety lessons • Field trips at the center, designed for special education classes; • Summer Skills Camp, to help high-functioning children with autism or Asperger's Syndrome learn social skills • STAR Reading, assists children in overcoming reading difficulties and provides parents with strategies to meet their goals.
