Escaped Prisoner Captured In Butler County

HAMILTON, Ohio -- Police captured an escaped prisoner Tuesday in Butler County.Josh Harrison had been arrested last week in Estill County, Ky., on a charge of receiving stolen property and, while awaiting extradition to Ohio, escaped from jail with another prisoner.Investigators said Harrison and his cellmate, Michael Trent, overpowered a corrections officer and ran to the jail?s control room, where police said they struck a jail matron several times and forced her to open the outer door.
Estill County sheriff?s deputies found Trent a few hours later, but Harrison remained at large until Butler County authorities received a tip that he had returned to the area.Harrison was arrested after police found him hiding beneath a pile of clothes in a closet at a residence on Cain Avenue in New Miami, authorities said.He is being held without bond at the Butler County Jail.
