Police Seek 'String Bandits' In Coin Robberies

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- They?re called "string bandits" by police because they rip off businesses with nothing more than a $10 bill and some string.Surveillance video captured a pair of crooks as they robbed the Blueball Car Wash in Middletown.The men tape a piece of string to the money and slip the bill into a coin-exchange machine, and then pull out the bill after the machine dispenses change.
Police said the men might have robbed several other car washes in the area and possibly some Laundromats in Hamilton.
