It will include 5,300 hotel rooms and suites, with four distinct hotel brands in one compelling destination, as well as a retail promenade and the Las Vegas ExpoCenter.
The Company continues to enhance its presence in the dynamic and growing Las Vegas locals sector, as well. Six unique Boyd Gaming properties welcome local patrons to a friendly gaming atmosphere - Gold Coast Hotel and Casino; The Orleans Hotel and Casino; Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall; Suncoast Hotel and Casino; Jokers Wild Casino; and Eldorado Casino. The Company also has plans underway for a northeast Las Vegas locals property.
In Michigan City, Indiana, a $170 million expansion and renovation of the Blue Chip Casino and Hotel completed in January 2006 made it the largest floating casino in the United States, as certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. A hotel expansion is also underway at the property, which will add a 300-room tower, 19,000-square-foot conference and event center, spacious spa and fitness facility, and a branded entertainment restaurant. Blue Chip is one of five successful properties in Boyd Gaming's riverboat and racino collection.
The Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino offers Las Vegas- style excitement dockside in East Peoria, Illinois. In Louisiana, dynamite casino action and horse-racing thrills await visitors at Delta Downs Racetrack Casino and Hotel in Vinton, while the beautiful Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner enchants guests with its vibrant mix of Las Vegas, Caribbean and Mardi Gras ambiance. Sam's Town Hotel and Casino Shreveport, located on the historic Red River, was acquired in May 2004. Just south of Memphis in Tunica, Mississippi, Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall Tunica offers resort amenities in a beautiful, relaxing setting.
In New Jersey, the $1.1 billion Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa debuted in summer 2003. Thousands of guests, from everyday locals to big-name celebrities, have flocked to its glittering casino, posh suites and opulent amenities - the first new hotel casino to hit Atlantic City in 13 years. Phase II of a $525 million expansion, The Water Club, is well underway and on track for completion spring 2007.
Boyd Gaming also acquired Dania Jai Alai and approximately 50 acres of related land in South Florida in 2006. The facility currently offers off-track wagering and live jai alai action; a master plan is being developed to add casino gaming, dining and other entertainment by 2008.
