It's the beating of Nikki Sanderson's new role.

Well, the title of the new show she'll be starring in, at least.

The former Coronation Street star, who played Candice Stowe, is joining the ITV1 drama Heartbeat.

She'll play the part of Dawn Bellamy, the niece of the late character Phil Bellamy.

Nikki has said: "I'm so excited about starting on Heartbeat and meeting all of the cast.

"My family and I have always loved the show, and I can't wait to put on the 60s clothing."

Come the end of the month she'll start filming in Yorkshire, and can be seen on screens later this year.

The show's producer, Archie Tait, said: "Nikki will be a fantastic addition to the show. Dawn is a great character who is certain to spice things up in Aidensfield."
