| 1993: One King of Shaves Original Shaving Oil sold every two weeks from one store (Harrods, The World's Favourite Department Store). 2008: One product sold every 3 seconds from 30,000+ stores world-wide! A lot has changed since 1993, and The King of Shaves Company's team is now responsible for not just it's own hugely successful proprietary brands - King of Shaves & King of Shaves Woman, but ensuring that the success enjoyed by these is repeated by other brands we manufacture and market including our hugely successful range of 'no ordinary designer fragrances' and stylish toiletries products by Ted Baker and cool range of men's & women's hair styling products by Fish, Born in Soho. Late 1992: Will King - Founder of King of Shaves created the shaving oil product that was to become the bedrock of the company. Helped by his girlfriend Ann, he initially worked from their back bedroom, bottling and selling King of Shaves Original shaving oil which he created after getting razor burn from shaving with conventional foams or gels. Will hand-filled the first 10,000 bottles over the kitchen sink (took 2 weeks) and in 1993, got the product listed by Harrods and Boots the Chemist. King of Shaves was born! King of Shaves specialises in shaving and skincare ?software platforms? for men and women, offering a number of shaving and skincare solutions ranging from the original natural essential oils to the low foam aloe based AlphaGels, the Kinexium silicon technology advanced shaving range, the silicon enhanced Proshave range, the new ASC2 antibacterial products, XCD, MagnaGel, AlphaGlide, the recently enhanced and redesigned King of Shaves Woman range with multi-benefit shaving gels, the original and cult ?Express Shaving' and VanishHair 'Shave Minimising' spritzes plus a fabulous leg toning moisturiser. Autumn 2006 saw the debut of our first 'Skinvestment Series' range of 'skincare in shaving' products, designed for use with today's high performance, multi-bladed shave systems, Q1 2007 saw the introduction of the world's 'Cleanest' shave gels & serums, UltraGel ULX, Q2 saw the debut of KU and Ted Baker X2O, Q3 new AngelFish from Fish and Q4 will see the debut of KOS.PRO and KOS.EXP - the first salon professional range of products from King of Shaves. Phew! August 24th 2007: King of Shaves achieves its highest ever market share by volume, retaining its position as the #2 shave preps brand after Gillette in the UK, and is widely acknowledged as one of the most successful brands in the fast moving men's grooming market place. Stocked by all the major retailers, sales for the twelve months to 24/08/07 showed continued volume growth despite major product launches and substantially increased marketing activity from other leading competitors including Nivea, Gillette and L'Oreal. King of Shaves continues to grow in the USA too, wth the brand now listed in over 20,000 stores across the USA (including CVS/pharmacy, Duane Reade, Target, Walgreens and Wal*Mart), it is poised to become one of the few British FMCG brands that has succeeded in the difficult and competitive US market. King of Shaves is also available in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and from Etos in Holland (the European test market chosen for the brand). as well as available world-wide online from shave.com and many online stores. King of Shaves has also garnered thousands of consumer plaudits and many magazine & consumer awards, including 1st or 2nd place shaving software voted by FHM 1999/ 2000 / 2002 / 2003 / 2004 / 2005) FHM USA (2003/2004/2005), Maxim (2000/2001/2005) and Men's Health (2006). It is also featured as one of the top 200 'Lovemarks' at www.lovemarks.com (ranking #72 of 5,000 as of 28/03/07). In 1998 KMI signed a world-wide fragrance licensing deal with Ted Baker plc and has since launched eight successful scents ? Ted Baker ?Skinwear? (1998), Ted Baker ?Woman? (1999), Ted Baker ?Endurance Man' (2000), Ted Baker 'Endurance Woman' Autumn 2001, Ted Baker 'M' & 'W' (2002), Ted Baker 'Global' (2003), Ted Baker 'SecondSkin' (2004), Ted Baker 'SecondScent' (2005) and Ted Baker XO - eXtraOrdinary (July 2006).. X2O debuted in Spring 2007 - all of these 'No Ordinary Designer Fragrances' are all available online or through Boots, Debenhams, Perfume shop, leading Department stores, Ted Baker stores, Ted?s Trustees (independent Ted Baker clothing stockists) and selected Duty Free outlets. Ted is in fine form. Plus, Ted Baker Bodywear, 'No Ordinary Designer Bodycare' can be found in over 1,250 Boots stores across the UK. As always, we're taking care of Ted! 2001: Having met Paul Burfoot, 'anti-designer' hairdresser and owner of supercool Soho salon, Fish, Will identified the opportunity to create Fish 'Born in Soho' - a new style of funky, young 'hairwear & styling' products. Launched September 2001, Fish is available in approx 900 Boots stores nation-wide and the 12 sku range is redefining 'cool hairstyling' and more - a refreshing change from 'named, personality celebrity hairdressing brands'. Fish has now finned its way across the Atlantic, and ladies, look out for AngelFish, now in over 800 Boots stores nationwide! Fish truly has its own alLure - 'Haircare with a Hook!' 2003/4: XCD wins FHM USA 2004 'Best Grooming Innovator' award, and KMI continues to lead the way in creating a credible 'beauty language' for men with the launch of XCD - Enhance | Camouflage | Defend. In addition, King of Shaves XCD' Perfecter picks up 'Best Grooming Innovation' award in FHM USA's 2004 Men's Grooming Awards! 2005: King of Shaves MagnaGel MME wins FHM USA's 3rd Annual Grooming Awards for 'Best Wet Shaving Product'. King of Deos, 'The World's Best Deo, Naturally' debuts and gets 10/10 in a 'Sun' newspaper performance test. Plus the British Olympic Association endorsed MagnaGlide ARB debuts in Boots in advance of the Winter Olympics, where King of Shaves are backing Kristan Bromley for a medal position...And a whole lot more is coming in 2006...! 2006/7: King of Shaves first advanced shaving cream - AlphaCream ALS - debuted in our new brand design developed by Pearlfisher alongside our in-house design team...
