  The newest addition to The Perth Mint’s Chinese Lunar Coin Series depicts the graceful and nimble goat. Each year since 1996, The Perth Mint in Australia has designed a coin to celebrate the Chinese New Year. In the Chinese Lunar Calendar each of twelve years is signified by an animal. Those born in 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991 and 2003 are born under the Chinese Lunar Year of the Goat or Ram also referred to as The Year of the Sheep. As with other coins in the series this gold coin is available in a wide variety of sizes from one kilo to 1/20 ounce, with the exception of the ½ ounce which was not issued.
