Bumble Bee Seafoods and Clover Leaf Seafoods Announce $300,000 Food Product Donation to Feed The Children for Tsunami Relief
Leading Seafood Brands Partner with Feed The Children to Reach Survivors of Tsunami Devastation

San Diego, Calif., February 18, 2005 -- Bumble Bee Seafoods and Cloverleaf Seafoods — the United States and Canadian operating subsidiaries of leading North American seafood company Connors Bros. Income Fund — have announced a donation of food products valued at $300,000 to benefit survivors of the recent tsunami disaster. The shelf stable seafood products are being provided to the international charity Feed The Children for distribution through its network of independent agencies to families and children in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Connors Bros. Ltd. President and Chief Executive Officer Christopher D. Lischewski said, "The tragic outcome of the tsunami hits close to home for our company and employees. We have business relationships throughout the Asian countries that have been worst affected, and are deeply disturbed by the extent of devastation and loss."

He added, "Given the high-protein nature of our products, we are uniquely positioned to aid these Asian communities by providing for some of their immediate food and nutrition needs."

Lischewski said that the contribution also reflects commitment toward the Asia Pacific region where the company sources much of its tuna. "As part of our connection with Asia and our responsibility to support the management of global tuna resources in that region, Connors Bros. is pleased to be able to partner with Feed The Children in this tsunami relief effort," he said.

"While news of the tsunami may have left the front page, the need is still great in South East Asia," said Larry Jones, president and founder of Feed The Children, who recently returned from the affected area. "That is why we are so grateful for this donation from Connors, and its Bumble Bee and Clover Leaf divisions, for helping Feed The Children get this much-needed food into the hands of hungry children and families there."
